Minecraft Snapshot 20w16a

The Bastion remnants or "home sweet home" as the Piglins refer to them, are here! This is the Piglins' home. If you scour the world you might also find remnants of portals from the past.

20w16a: New Features

Bastion remains added Portals were destroyed Chain blocks added. The new music disc titled "Pigstep" by Lena Raine, which can only be found in bastions

Four bastions were added as remnants: bridge, Hoglin stable as well as housing units and a treasure rooms. These structures can be found in all biomes of the Nether with the exception of the dangerous ash towers in basalt Deltas. Explore and loot an abandoned bastion to claim it your home... but beware, Piglins won't tolerate intruders stealing their stuff

Ruined Portals

- They can be found in any overworld or nether biome - Some are hidden underground or under the sea, or in sand

Changes in 20w16a

- Increased the number of lava pools to make the deltas more "deltary" - The Piglin banner pattern is now found in bastions

Technical Changes in 20w16a

- Added a button in the GUI that will generate an jigsaw pattern starting from the jigsaw block, using the specified depth of generation. The maximum size for each axis for Structure Blocks from 32 x 48 - Included JMX MBean to track dedicated servers' tick times

JMX Monitoring

JMX now allows you to monitor server tick times. Minecraft servers JMX is a well-known and widely-supported monitoring technology with existing tools and integrations.

Administrators of servers can hook up alerts and graphing tools with normal JMX clients or dashboards.

- A new flag enable-jmx-monitoring has been added to the server.properties file which if set to true will expose an MBean with the Object name net.minecraft.server:type=Server and two attributes averageTickTime and tickTimes exposing the tick times in milliseconds. You will need to add JVM flags to your startup to enable JMX on Java runtime.
